For this task I created three different flats ideas. These flats ideas will be used as a plan for the final 3D model of my chosen environment, Space Mining Settlement.
This is my first flats idea. It takes place inside the mine which contains a mine track which leads through a doorway. On the wall there are multiple veins of ores and in certain places the ore has already been mined.
This is the next flats idea I had. This is a corner inside the mine. The mine track is leading from on side to the other. There was a problem with this however, the mine track would appear to be ascending up the wall instead of being flat like I want it to be. On the floor there is also a pickaxe and a crate/storage box. On the wall there is two torches and wooden beams used for supporting the weight of the mine.
This is my last flats idea. You can see a doorway which leads to the surface of mars. On the surface, you can see sand dunes in the distance, an Excavator, other planets in the sky and a hand reaching around the doorway to stimulate the feeling of not being alone. Inside the mine the is a minetrack on the floor and on the wall there is a couple of beams used for support, a torch, ores and a minecart that is holding mined resources.
