I think that this task as a whole has been rather successful and I am quite please at my final outcome of the 3D model.
For the first task, I created two spider-diagrams one for two different themes. I chose Walled City and Space Settlement. After looking at both of them and comparing each I chose the Space Settlement as it suited my interests more than the Walled City did.
The next task, a bunch of research was gather and printed off. This was then stuck onto some mood boards. There is at least one for each of the themes; Urban Street, Space Settlement, Enchanted Forest and Walled City.
For the third task, I drew six different thumbnail sketches for the environment of my chosen theme. I decided to do one from the outside look down at the planet. One from inside the spaceship. Three from inside the mine and one from inside but you can see the surface of the planet through a doorway.
Task four is where I gather a bunch of texture ideas and tested different techniques out. These techniques helped me create a better final 3D model.
The next task, task five, I created three flats ideas. This is how I got my actual idea for the final 3D model. I did find that it was a bit of a struggle trying to get things in the right perspective but after a few attempt I got a plan I was happy with and that it the one I chose for task six, Final 2D Design.
For the final task, I created a 3D model of the plan I chose in the previous task. I used some of the techniques I practised in task four and that is how I generated my final outcome. If I was to create this again I would have put more detail into the walls of the mine and I would have tried to use more techniques. However, I think what I produced is worthy of a grade.
